I was born 21-07-1976 at Oulu and I have lived here all my life. I currently live at oinaansuo with my wife, Marjaana and two sons, Veeti and Tatu. Here you can read some notes on what's going on on my life (in finnish, though).
I have graduated from university of oulu, department of mathematical sciences in 2001. The title of my masters thesis was On encryption methods based on elliptic curves and factorization. Before university I have attended Koskelan ala-aste, kuivasojan ala-aste, Herukan yläaste and pateniemen lukio.
I really wasn't that interested in mathematics until I had already graduated from pateniemen lukio and was thinking about going to university. I took a course called "Basic methods in mathematics" to prepare myself for the upcoming exams (to get into the university). That course really got me interested in mathematics.
I started working at ericsson in the fall of year 2000, when ericsson decided to start a new unit at Oulu. Before working at ericsson I had been a part-time assistant at the department of mathematical scienses.
Ericsson decided to outsource us to microcell at the end of 2002 where I worked for almost a year. That was followed by two and a half year turn at Bluepoint. My current employer is Codenomicon.
I am quite the normal Linux geek, like to program in C and have a soft spot for free software. My operating systems-of-choice are Linux and OpenBSD.
I am interested in both the mathematical side and the implementation side of cryptography. I also have interest for IP security, especially for firewalls and IPSec related things.
When not playing around with my family or computers I also like to read books, cook food and listen to music.
